Christmas Choir Concert brings people together

If there’s one thing that brings everyone together, it’s Christmas music. The annual Christmas Choir Concert was December 12th.

Senior Choir President Izze Loos said, “It went off without a hitch.”

The concert began with the ritual singing of “Personant Hodie” complete with a blacked out PAC and lit candles. Choir Director Mr. Bean made sure to include a menagerie of songs from different backgrounds and in many different languages (Nigerian, Russian, Latin, English, French).

Bean said he, “likes to expose the students to different cultural styles of music,” and he felt overall that the choirs all did very well.

“This is a good place that we can grow and work from.” Bean said.

The concert featured the Freshman Center choirs, Concert, A Capella, Women’s, and Chamber Choir. Senior Antonio Grisafe preformed a solo in the piece, “Oba-Ti-De.” The concert concluded with everyone including alumni and even some parents coming up onstage to sing “The Halleluiah Chorus” together.

On final concert thoughts, Loos said, “This concert is always everyone’s favorite; we did a good job and this was a great way to end the semester.”
