What was your favorite part of high school?
For me, it as just figuring out who I was and figuring out what I don’t know. I wish I would have gone back and just been myself versus trying to fit in or be what everybody else was. But I think once I just started to be myself, that was my favorite part of high school was just being me. And I didn’t get inti art later and t was kind of my sanctuary. So I wasn’t really into sports or I didn’t have good gardes or anything. So art was kind of my safe spot.
Where did you go to high school?
Lee’s Summit North High School. I grew up at Lake Lotawana. So strange, so close to here, but that’s okay.
What has your time been like at South?
I’ve loved it here. This is my first job out of college as a teacher here and I don’t plan on leaving until I retire. So I am a hardcore jaguar.
What is something you want your students to know?
That I care. Sometimes I care more than I should but I care about them and that, you know, I look at them as individuals and it’s okay to fail sometimes too.
