In the past three weekends, speech and debate students have been very busy.

There have been two speech and debate tournaments back-to-back and Blue Springs South took home a lot of winners.

For speech, Alex Van Dyke and Tavarus Pennington qualified in International Extemp Speaking, Benny O’Brien qualified in Informative Speaking, R.J. Appleberry qualified in Performance of Orla Literature & Humorous Interpretation, Hanna Stracener qualified in Humorous Interpretation, and Riley Smith qualified in Dramatic Interpretation.

For debate, Drake Wood and Brendan Spicer qualified in Public Forum debate.

All of these qualifiers will be attending the national tournament to compete in June.
