Cheerleaders volunteer at Harvesters

On November 30 the Blue Springs South cheerleaders volunteered at Harvesters to help local families. Harvesters is an organization that provides food and other household products to those in need. Their mission is to “feed hungry people today and work to end hunger tomorrow”. Our very own cheerleaders got to help out the organization.

Junior Claire Bliss, enjoyed packing boxes knowing that they were going to feed families in need.

“I liked it because it was amazing to know that we were making a difference and providing meals for families to eat,” said Bliss.

The cheerleaders brought 146 lbs. of food that provided 122 meals for the families. They also packaged 8,000 lbs. meat for shelters and 850 snacks for children. The fellow volunteers thought the cheerleaders did a great job and were very hardworking.
