Coach Todd Findley and the girls soccer team have not only proven to be a threat, but unstoppable as well. They’ve managed at home to shut down top-ranked teams such as the Lee’s Summit Tigers and Lee’s Summit North Broncos.

Revenge was on the girls minds as they took on two Lee’s Summit teams that they had lost to earlier in the season. The girls defeated the Tigers (2-1) as well as the Titans (1-0) in overtime. The following week, the girls had yet another shut out, this time against Pembroke Hill (10-0).

“We’ve had a great last couple of weeks. Two weeks ago started with upsetting Lee’s Summit. They were third in the state and then the next night we had a real tough Lee’s Summit West group. We had two back to back wins against two big opponents and we felt really great about it”, said Coach Todd Findley.

As the regular season comes to a close, soon the girls will have to say goodbye to four seniors: Brooke Herald, Emily Griffin, Abby Widick, and Rachel Landon. All girls have played for four years while leaving a mark on each of their underclassman teammates, as well as Coach Findley.

“They’re great leaders, they bring us all together. No matter whether were loosing or winning they always cheer us on”, says junior Mollie Maupin.

“I’ll miss the way the way they showed us around and the way they carried our team”, says sophomore Mallory Kroencke.

The seniors also shared what they hope for the underclassmen.

“I hope that hey continue to work as a team and continue to possess and attack as hard as they can,” says Brooke Herald.

Coach Findley also shared his thoughts on the seniors who he had a pleasure of coaching all four years.

“Their character and their leadership has been just fantastic this year and really made our team special. They each have a different trait among them but through what they do on the field and helping off the field has being great. They’ve been great role models on our team and really gave us some high standards to play up to. I just loved to watch them play because they work so hard on the field. It’s just been fun to be with them and watch them guide our team. I think the bond this year has been really close and tight and I’m really going to miss that because their just a fun group to hang out and talk with.”
